Most famous for Nanogold®, Nanoprobes seeks to create innovative nanoparticle products. Nanoprobes utilizes nanobiopharmeutics to find cures for cancers and other malignant diseases. The Nanogold® is an extremely versatile product for gold labeling, with a higher density of immunolabeling due to its nanosize.
Nanospectra is another company who seeks to cure cancer with gold nanoparticles. They specifically utilize the AuroShell® particles to destroy the cancer tissue. The particles absorb infrared light, and then change the light into heat. The heat then kills the cancer cells. The company is based off of Rice University, an extremely important leader of nanobiopharmaceutics.
Nanoviricides attempts to combat viruses using nanoparticles. The nanoviricides are meant to trick the virus with a disguise as a human cell. The nanoviricides then wrap around the virus, and kill the virus, using the virus' own tactics.
